Birth Services

A Birth Doula Service package includes several services that will prepare you mentally, emotionally and physically for your birth. A range of additional services are also available to aid you and your family before, during, and after your child’s birth.

Birth Doula Service Package:

Home Visit One: 1 hour meeting face to face, to provide information about doula service and allow you to decide if we are a good match. As it is essential to know that you and your chosen doula are a good fit for one another, this initial consultation is always free of charge.

Home Visit Two and Three: 2 hour meetings in which we discover your fears/desires/hopes for your labor and birth with a Birth Needs Assessment. We will discuss what it is like to labor at home and in the hospital. If you prefer, we may practice several pain management techniques and coping skills, and several pushing positions for birthing. We will review when to call your doula and when to call your doctor or midwife, and discuss specific signs of labor and its progression to help you know for sure when your birthing time has come.

24-Hour On-Call: Your doula is available to you any time day or night from the time of hire until the time your baby is born.  Should you have a pre-term birth, every effort will be made to provide services during that time as well.

All of Labor, Delivery and 1 Hour Postpartum: Your doula remains with you from the time labor is established, throughout active labor, until an hour after your birth to ensure bonding and a good start to breastfeeding.

Phone/e-mail/text Support: Your doula will be available by phone for you or your partner any time throughout pregnancy and 6 weeks postpartum. You are welcome to call after visits to your healthcare providers, call to ask questions about pregnancy or early labor, or call if you need empathy and emotional support.

Postpartum Follow-Up: This final home visit offers an opportunity for us to see one another one more time and talk about your birth experience.

Breastfeeding Support: Your doula can aide with initial latch-on after birth and provide breastfeeding support by phone pre- and post-birth.

Insurance Reimbursement: You will be provided with service receipts, a letter verifying services rendered, and other documentation to assist you in filing for reimbursement of fees from your insurance company.
